Next Event: Pre-Service Prayer · Sunday, August 20, 2017 · 8:00 am

Personal growth in our relationship with Jesus involves a life journey of pursuit by seeking to know and experience Him through prayer. Prayer is foundational to who we are and how we live out our faith.

Prayer is absolutely vital to corporate growth within the church.  It sustains the momentum of the church by releasing the Holy Spirit to work on behalf of the purposes of God.  A lack of prayer causes us to fall back on our own abilities and skills, moving us to become self-reliant.  Our purpose and goal is to rely on God and His directives first. When prayer precedes abilities and skills, it helps us engage in ministry that endures for eternity!

We have many avenues of prayer for your personal growth as well as opportunities for those wishing to serve.

We are constantly on a journey, learning how to pray personally and for the church.  We want to encourage you on your journey.  Listed below is a brief description of different ministries we have devoted to prayer and opportunities for you to continue growing in prayer.

Pre-Service Prayer

We want to see God move in the lives of everyone who comes to the services.  During our prayer time we will be praying for the congregation and for the Pastor who is speaking.  We also make sure we have an opportunity to personally engage in prayer about our own personal relationship with the Lord. Pre-Service prayer is led by a prayer leader and also includes worship songs led by a live worship band.  The prayer times include thanksgiving prayer, prayer points listed on PowerPoints screens, listening prayer and corporate unison prayer.

Where:  In the Prayer Room

When:  Sunday’s 8:00am-8:50am

Prayer Partners

Volunteers support the ministry of Southland by praying regularly for a staff leader. Prayer teams pray together once a month to align themselves with what God is doing through that staff member and their ministry and then pray on their own, often at home, the rest of the month.

After Service Prayer Minister

After every service at Southland, we have volunteer teams available in the Prayer Room to offer prayer support for those in the congregation who would like to receive prayer.
